February 20, 2012

By Webmaster

Announcing the immediate release of xScope 3.1 for Mac and xScope Mirror 1.2 for iOS, now available via the App Store or via the Check for Updates… option from the application menu.

This important update ads all-new functionality to the Mirror tool and allows users to view not only Mac desktop windows, but also image files and the contents of your Mac’s clipboard. Simply connect xScope to the companion iOS Mirror app then drag and drop an image file onto xScope’s dock icon. The image will instantly be displayed on iOS and works with a host of formats including PSDs, TIFFs and PNGs. Any changes saved to your file are automatically updated to the mirror in real time, speeding development of UI work on the Mac. The 1.2 update also sends the contents of your Mac’s clipboard, saves mirrored content to your device’s photo library or lets you share it via email. New pinch and double-tap gestures allow mirrored content to be viewed at 2:1, 1:1 or 1:2 ratios as well as snapped to on-screen edges for quick placement.

The update also includes a new preference to the Guides tool to allow controls to be placed on the left, right, top or bottom of the screen as well as several important bug fixes. Visit the xScope history page for a full list of the changes in this release.

xScope 3 is available from Apple’s Mac App Store via their one-click ordering system. Ordering from the Mac App Store means there are no registration codes to keep track of and you get updates automatically. Version 3.1 is a free update to registered users of version 3 and is recommended. The $19.99 Mac App Store launch price end tomorrow, Feb 21st, don’t delay!
