Tuesday greets us again with the familiar sights and sounds of one of our favorite movies from the 80’s – TRON. Iconfactory artist, Anthony Piraino, has turned his talents towards res-ing up some light cycles, recognizers and other cool objects from the geek-culture hit from Walt Disney. We invite you to surf over and download these freeware gems to your own computer so you can help TRON, Flynn and all the rest of the digital warriors defeat the MCP before time runs out. The release of Smoothicons 6, which included the Apple iApps, prompted a virtual flood of requests for more of your favorite applications to help round out the Smoothicon style in the dock. In response, Corey proudly presents Smoothicons Volume 7. This release adds 28 new icons representing the applications that we received the most requests for. This latest release is now available as standard icons or as a handy Pixadex iContainer.

As we reflect on the events of a single day and how it changed our nation over the past two years, let us also consider the unity it brought and celebrate the resilience of the American people. Today, on this day of days, we remember the lost and salute the heroes.

Being the huge Trek fans that the workers are, we felt it apt to remind our U.S. visitors that tonight marks the start of season three of ‘Enterprise’ on UPN. Star Trek was one of our very first original inspirations for drawing icons and it has continued to do so, as with the recent release of Ged’s Trek Insignia icon collection. In the read-me file of that release, the Foreman noted his top ten ways to fix what’s wrong with ‘Enterprise’, issues that many Trek fans wrote to us to agree on. With tonight’s season premiere, all of us here at the factory have high hopes that costume changes aside, B&B have seen the error of their ways and will take the steps necessary to turn this series around before we all tune out for good. We’ll keep our finger’s crossed, our phasers set merely to stun, and our eyes on our inbox for your thoughts in the days ahead.

It’s Tuesday Again! Announcing The G5 System

September 9, 2003

By Webmaster

Iconfactory artist and pixel junkie, Dave Brasgalla, has expanded the icon collection he started in G5 Drives to now include a complete system replacement set. G5 System is visually based on the industrial design of Apple’s newly released G5 towers and is rendered in cool and meticulous detail for use in your OS X toolbars and desktop.

CandyBar users will be pleased to learn that G5 System comes complete as an easy to use iContainer that will instantly set your default system icons with a simple double-click. The iContainer version also contains the toolbar icons needed to complete your thematic makeover, a special addition not included in either the Mac or the Windows downloads.

As new sets come down the assembly line, we encourage you to drop us a note and let us know your thoughts about “New Icon Tuesday’s” at The Iconfactory. We love feedback, so don’t be afraid to let yourself be heard. Thanks all!
