This new freeware collection is based on the beloved characters from the classic Rankin and Bass Christmas cartoon and will bring fond memories of childhood rushing back to your desktop. This week, The Iconfactory celebrates the 20th anniversary of the classic holiday movie A Christmas Story with an icon set by the same name. Artist Anthony Piraino has rendered several of the objects from the movie and wrapped them up for your desktop. Greed, Treachery – and Icons!

This week’s icon release gets dark and gritty. Private Eye, Act 1 is Iconfactory artist Kate England’s first installment of an icon mystery in three acts. Drawing inspiration from the hard-boiled school of crime fiction, Private Eye, Act 1 delves into a world of greed, brutality and treachery. We are happy to finally present a long-awaited and highly requested CandyBar collection. TiSystem by Iconfactory artist Corey Marion is an extension of one our earliest Mac OS X icon sets created more than two years ago when the Aqua UI was new to us all. This release is available in a handy CandyBar iContainer and is compatible with Jaguar and Panther and looks especially nice in the new metal Finder.

And for you serious icon junkies (for whom new icons every Tuesday just isn’t enough) we proudly introduce QuickPix. QuickPix is a tiny little corner of the Factory where we will post those random sets of pixels that we find when we clean up the factory floor. Keep checking back, you never know what you might find!
