We’ve opened a portal to the year 3000 and what came out were hordes of strange and marvelous aliens from Fox’s defunct cult classic animated series. Since you can never have enough application replacement icons, we’re pleased to announce this week’s freeware icon release – Smoothicons 12. With the eyes of the world turning to Italy, we are proud to bring you this week’s freeware icon collection – Torino 2006. This latest creation from Iconfactory artist Talos Tsui is a collection of glyphs used at this year’s winter games. Based on original creations from design firm IconoLogic, these icons are translucent white and are designed for use on medium to dark backgrounds. Because of this they may appear missing when you unstuff the downloaded archives. We are also offering the perfect desktop pictures to serve as a backdrop for this set, so head on over and check them out.
