On this day six years ago (in an alternate reality) the Moon was violently ripped from Earth orbit by a cataclysmic nuclear explosion, sending the inhabitants of Moonbase Alpha into the unknown. So begins Gerry Anderson’s fanciful 1970’s Sci-Fi cult classic TV show, Space: 1999. To celebrate this historic day in geekdom history, resident artist, Dave Brasgalla, is pleased to offer his latest freeware collection – Space: 1999. Fans of the series will instantly recognize the objects and ships from the short-lived show. Rendered in loving detail, there is something here for everyone and the collection is available for Macintosh, PC or Pixadex iContainer. So hop on a travel tube and blast off to adventure!

IconBuilder Updated to 8.0.1

After more than a week of shake-down time, we are pleased to announce that IconBuilder has been updated to version 8.0.1. This latest release squashes a bug relating to Japanese systems and another with Photoshop palette problems. It also adds small features regarding marquee creation and duplicate resource checking. Most of the Iconfactory crew were big fans of the original Battlestar Galactica and were a bit apprehensive about the prospect of the “re-imagined” series. However, after seeing the miniseries back in 2003 we were hooked. Fridays at 10pm on the Sci Fi Channel are now can’t-miss events. Pixadex 1.5.5 Now Available

Our friends over at Panic have released a new version of the popular icon collection and organization program – Pixadex. This new version fixes two important bugs, one related to deleting collections and the other that caused a potential crashes when an icon had an invalid URL associated with it. Pixadex 1.5.5 is a free update and is recommended for all users.
