People’s Choice Voting Begins Today

April 6, 2004

By Webmaster

Be here at Noon e.s.t. today for the start of public voting for the People’s Choice Award for Pixelpalooza 2004. We invite you to visit each of the three category pages (OS X, CandyBar and Classic) and rate your preference for each entry. People’s Choice voting runs from today until Noon e.s.t. April 13th and the winners will be announced along side of the Grand Prize and Runner up winners selected by this year’s judges on April 21st.

We’ve made a change in procedure from previous contests for this year’s People’s Choice voting. Last year ballot stuffing was a serious problem and as such, we’ve decided not to show which entry is in the lead. We’re sorry if this is disappointing, but you can blame all those people out there who thought voting multiple times for a single entry was okay. Artists from around the world have put their hearts and souls into their creations, and if you value their efforts, please treat the contest with respect and vote only once in each of the three categories. Now get voting!

To celebrate the North American DVD release of Matrix Revolutions, our resident maniac, Dave Brasgalla, has pulled out all the stops for this weeks’ freeware icon release. Matrix Rebooted is a wonderful tribute to the movie trilogy from the Wachowski brothers and contains over 90 individual icons that can be used as a complete system replacement set for your desktop. Users of our popular system icon customization utility, CandyBar will be happy to learn that Matrix Rebooted comes complete as a CB iContainer that can replace all of your system icons in a single click. But that’s not all, the set contains alternate versions so CandyBar uses can mix and match to their heart’s content.

The icon set alone would be more than enough to satisfy any die-hard Neo fan, but Dave being Dave, has also pounded out two extremely cool desktop pictures to complete your Matrix makeover. We advise you to make like Neo and fly over to Dave’s site, Pixelhuset, and swipe them before the Merovingian finds out what you are up to. We sincerely hope that if you enjoy this huge collection from Dave, you’ll drop us a line and let him know.
