Slice of Us in Tiger
May 4, 2005
Observant users of Apple’s new Mac OS X 10.4 “Tiger” have spotted a little bit of The Iconfactory in the new OS. That’s because our very own funkAmals and Tribal Mask icon collections come bundled for use with Tiger’s new iChat application. While running iChat in Tiger, click “Change my picture…” under the Buddies menu. This brings up the buddy picture window. Click “Choose” and select the alias to iChat icons and you’ll see our stuff. You can also get to it directly by drilling down thusly in OS X: Library/Application Support/Apple/iChat Icons.

“We fear change…”
April 18, 2005
In case you have not heard the news this morning, Adobe announced that it is in talks to purchase Macromedia in a stock based deal for $3.4 billion dollars. Its not a done deal yet, but if it does fly we’re sure users will see many changes afoot in some of their favorite programs. Macromedia Freehand is our tool of choice here at the factory to create the iconic goodness you all know and download, and the thought of Freehand updates going the way of the Dodo is sad to say the least. All of the workers will watch with anticipation to see what rumblings go on between these two software companies and maybe, just maybe, we’ll take another look at Illustrator in the meantime. Oh boy.
